Warm Heart Wednesday #2

It occurred to me the other day that sometimes I am stuck in the bad...not seeing or recognizing the good as often as I should.

I allow myself to be filled with weight and worry and woes.

Not always.

But sometimes too often.

I forget to remember the wonderful small, positive things that happen each week...a card in the mail, someone holding a store door or asking where I get my hair cut, a funny little story, or a ray of sunshine warming my face.

Warm Heart Wednesday is for me.   To start remembering.  And to make a journal of joy.

I hope you will consider joining me on this adventure by sharing something that made YOUR heart warm over the past week.  I think it will be fun and uplifting to read your ongoing journals as well.

Warm Heart Wednesday for the week of November 18 through November 24.

I loved last weeks links AND I visited them all to lift my spirits!   Thank you, thank you.   Last week I found myself thinking of moments that I might write about!   This is going to be soooo good for me!   Happy Thanksgiving dear friends.   I am truly thankful for all of you.

And...

Please remember I'm working the kinks out of this.

Warm Heart Wednesday #1

I'll be totally honest with you.

I didn't want to go.

I really, really didn't want to go.

But Mr. Jenny insisted.

So I put on my best 'not too sick' make-up.

And retrieved my favorite walking stick.

The gymnasium was hardly crowded at all...so typical of a small town craft show held in a small town local school.

We moved to this small town a little over a year ago and have totally and completely fallen in love.

And last year we went to this particular craft show and I loved it...so Mr. Jenny decided it would do me good to go again.

I perked up for a second when we went inside the double doors.   There is something about the smell of a gymnasium.  Memories of skinny long-legged high school crushes always come to mind...along with crepe paper strewn prom nights with those same crushes.

As I limped along with my walking stick, I lost interest, though...crocheted things, sewn things, knitted things...

...I was just not into the whole thing.   I wanted to go home.

Then something caught my eye.

It was a small booth set up with all kinds of rocks and crystals.

Beautiful rocks.

Beautiful crystals.

The man manning (wasn't that fun wording?) the display was intent on a book and didn't look at us at all.

Or so I thought.

When we turned to go (alas, rocks and crystals were not on my shopping list so close to Christmas), the man reached out gently and put his hand on my arm.

I looked at him quizzically.  He handed me one of the larger quartz crystals I had been looking at.

I tried to hand it back while saying, "Oh, I'm sorry, I can't get that now.   Christmas shopping and all...you know?"

He said, "No, I'm giving it to you."

I was really shocked.   I stood there silent for a moment and then asked, "Why?"

"Because you need it."   He spoke in a quiet but firm voice and then returned to reading his book.

Mr. Jenny and I walked off slowly.   I had the crystal clutched firmly in my hand and was trying not to cry.

"Really?   Did that really happen?"  I asked Mr. Jenny.

Mr. Jenny was just as surprised and shocked as I was.

We finished walking through the gymnasium while I, all the while, clutched the crystal tightly in my hand.

As we finished I told Mr. Jenny I wanted to thank the man again.

I limped over where he was just as intensely engaged in reading his book.

The title of the book was Healing with Crystals.  The mans eyes were gentle and brown.

"I wanted to thank you again," I told him sincerely.   "I will pass it along to someone else that needs it when I am done with it."

He closed my hand around the crystal.   "You need it.   YOU need it.   Don't give it away to anyone.  YOU keep it with you."

He was so emphatic, I nodded in agreement and limped away.

I've been carrying the crystal ever since.

I don't know if it makes my body feel better.

But it certainly makes my heart feel warm to know how much kindness exists in the world.

Alphabe-Thursday Letter Z

Good morning class.

Welcome to the end of round eleven of Alphabe-Thursday! Today we will be studying the zippy letter:

...but before we do please

Accck.

It's really making me sad that this is the last round.

Mr. Jenny and I talked again at great length about this.

Again.

Because we live in the mountains now, our community garden is closed for the winter.   I was volunteering a tiny bit every week and I think it was really good for me.

I think Mr. Jenny worries that I will just isolate during the winter (curled into a fetal C position - too chubby to make a fetal ball still...sigh)  and so he is opposed to my totally stopping blogging.

That being said, I will be back next Wednesday with a different Linky challenge.   I have to think through the steps of it but if you want to come back and see what's up that would be great.

I have made so many friends here and so many of you sent e-mails and wrote lovely comments about how much you've enjoyed this Alpha-Community as well.

So maybe we can help each other through these next painful months.

I will see you next week.

And special blessings to you all for your kindness and prayers.

And so...for the last Alphabe-Thursday link of round 11...

Please link directly to your Alphabe-Thursday URL (if you don't know how to do this let me know!) and please continue to visit the five links before and after your link and leave a comment. Minimum of 10 links visited please. You can visit more if you like, of course, and please try very hard to visit the blogs that visit you for this meme.

If you have any difficulties with your link, please make sure to include the number of the link when you e-mail me. It is really difficult for me to find your link otherwise. And, if you see any broken links, please let me know that as well.

If you have any questions about Alphabe-Thursday or problems doing your link just post it in a comment or send me an e-mail. I'll do my best to help you as quickly as I can.

The McLinkey will be live from 1:00 pm MST time Wednesday afternoon in an effort to assist our lovely "friends across the pond" and continue through 10:00 am MST time Friday morning!

Alphabe-Thursday Letter Y

Good morning class.

Welcome to round eleven of Alphabe-Thursday! Today we will be studying the youthful letter:

Yikes.  Sigh.   Sigh.   I miss writing.  I miss posting.   I miss seeing what is happening out in the world.  But it's just not working for me right now.   I will not be continuing Alphabe-Thursday after this round.   It isn't fair that not only do I NOT participate but I am rarely able to visit any of you.  Just thought I would give everyone fair warning.   This makes me pretty emotional and it's not an easy decision, but fair is fair.   And these horrible diseases are taking up most of my life at the moment.   I'm sorry.  You know I love you guys.

It is really difficult for me to find you easily otherwise.
